  • The Hazard: Colophony (Rosin) fumes are a potent respiratory sensitizer.
  • Extraction Hierarchy:
    1. Tip Extraction: Attached directly to the soldering iron (Best).
    2. Arm Extraction: Moveable ducts (Good, but relies on operator discipline).
    3. Benchtop Filtration: Carbon filters (Okay for light work).
  • Filter Maintenance: Schedules for changing HEPA and Carbon filters based on hours of use.
